Winemaker's notes:
Famous for two centuries, first in banking then in wine, the Rothschild name comes from the German phrase "Das Rote Schild". A reference to the red shield which originally served as the family sign. "Escudo Rojo" is the literal Spanish translation.

A fine blended red wine, Escudo Roho combines the richness of Chile's vineyards with the technical skill of baron Philippe de Rothschild, S.A. It is made from four traditional grape varieties: cabernet sauvignon, carmenere, syrah and cabernet franc. Planted on rigorously selected, low-yield parcels of the vineyard. The grapes are hand-picked and each variety is vinified separately in our bodega. The wine is then blended and matured for about 12 months in French oak.

A wine of intense aromatic complexity, Escudo Rojo has a well-balanced structure and long, lingering finish. With plenty of aging potential, it be enjoyed for several years.
